LAMA Serving the Community - A guide for passengers
This guide explains why you need to register as a passenger to use the LAMA minibus and details what you need to do
LAMA provides community transport in and around Lerryn to help make good the shortfall in public transport in this isolated rural district. Our legal area of operation encompasses Lerryn, St Veep, St Winnow, Boconnoc, Lostwithiel and the districts that surround them. Completing our Passenger Registration Form makes it clear that you are one of the people we are entitled to carry under Section 19 of the 1985 Transport Act. The same form also has another advantage, as it enables us to keep you informed and fully up to date, if you wish, about all our future trips and activities.
As an additional support for people using our minibus, we also offer you the opportunity to provide us with In Case of Emergency (ICE) information. This could be the contact details for a close family member, or a friend or neighbour. Then, should you become lost or unwell during one of our trips, we can if necessary alert your ICE contact, particularly if the minibus needs to continue its journey without you on board.
Under the terms of the 2018 Data Protection Act, we must process your data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner, and our Passenger Privacy Policy shows the ways we are committed to doing so. Please look at our policy and check the ways we protect your privacy. You will find it on the back of your passenger registration form.
What You Need To Do
- Take this pack home with you to read and complete in your own time.
- Fill in your details on the passenger registration form (please include your mobile phone if you have one so that the driver or booking clerk may contact you in an emergency), tick the appropriate eligibility box, and sign and date the form.
- If possible, provide more than one method of communication (eg, your home phone number and a mobile number and an email address, if you have them) so that if one method fails, we can use another.
- Please speak to your chosen ‘In Case of Emergency’ (ICE) contact and include their details on the form if they are happy for you to do so.
- Post the completed form in the enclosed envelope, but you may keep this cover note if you wish.
- If there is no envelope with this document then please post the completed forms to:
LAMA, Lanwithan View, Silverlake, Lostwithiel, Cornwall, PL22 0JP.
