Volunteer drivers take our community minibus from Lerryn via Lostwithiel to local towns, shops, garden centres and places of interest. Charges are very modest, and a phone call (01208 871272) books you a place.

In addition, many local organisations such as the primary school, the Womens' Institute, playgroup, church and theatre club find it advantageous to hire the bus for their own activities.

The timetables you can see on this page are also displayed in public places in Lerryn and Lostwithiel, and are published in 'The Bridge' and 'Lostwithiel News'.

Notices:

During last year’s trip to the North Coast, our passengers had such a great time that they asked the driver to return later than scheduled. This year, once again, the driver will be in your hands: you will go back home when you want to!
Our special trip in June will be to the ever popular trip to Looe on Thursday 14th. This year, we are adding the option of visiting Polperro, but only if you want to!
Our next coffee morning will be on Saturday 16 June in Lerryn Memorial Hall. We will run the Lerryn Minibus for Lostwithiel passengers if at least five book.

Due to a private hire, our June trip to Truro is not taking place on the 2^nd Friday of the month, but on a Thursday. Our apologies for any inconvenience this might cause.
By popular request, our July special trip will be to Falmouth, including its Farmers’ Market, on Tuesday 3rd. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Self Drive Hire

Lerryn Area Minibus Association exists to support rural communities and help to combat rural isolation by providing accessible, safe and affordable transport services for local people and community groups. Our very comfortable minibus is operated under Section 19 or 22 permits and is available for self drive hire.

Only members of our association can use our minibus when operated using our section 19 Permit but we are authorised to operate self drive hires when using our Section 22 Permit when it is not being used on our registered routes.

Local people and community groups have used our services to make the following journeys:

- Attend a concert in the Carnglaze caverns

- Ferry a family group from their accommodation in Golant to Lerryn throughout a weekend on the occasion of their father’s 80th birthday party

- Attend a lecture at the University of Plymouth

- Visit a brewery in Rock followed by a meal in Padstow

- Celebrate an 18th birthday party at a disco in Newquay

The minibus can take up to 16 passengers plus the driver and the modest rate of £1.40 per mile includes all diesel costs. All drivers have to be over 25 years of age and must produce their driving licence at the half-hour familiarisation lesson that all drivers have to attend prior to driving our automatic minibus for the first time. In case any problems arise, we have RAC breakdown cover and are fully insured.
